Working at Height Training

Falls from height are one of the most common causes of injury at work, and one of the most likely causes of a fatal workplace accident. Falls not only pose a risk to the individual that falls, but also to other employees and even to members of the public and third parties. It is important that all individuals that work in these conditions are provided with the correct safety equipment and have suitable training. Such training should meet Work at Height Regulations 2005, to ensure that the employer meets legal requirements but also to ensure that accidents are minimised and injuries are less likely to be serious.

The Working at Height training course is aimed at individuals that work in these conditions. Whether candidates work on rooftops, scaffolding, towers, or other elevated positions, they will receive training on how to identify the correct safety equipment, how to utilise safe working systems, and how to minimise exposure to dangerous conditions. Risk management, safety equipment use, and risk mitigation are among the primary skills to be taught.

Safety equipment is critical when working at height. It can prevent falls and, if a fall does occur, the safety equipment can prevent major injuries. However, it is essential that the correct safety equipment is chosen and that it is used correctly.

Working at Heights training teaches how to conduct pre-use checks and to ensure that harnesses and other accessories are fitted properly. The participant will learn to identify defects in equipment, and they will be taught how to correctly record any of these issues that do arise. Candidates will learn to use equipment like harnesses, lanyards, energy absorbing lanyards, and work positioning equipment, as well as any other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
