Any person with a responsibility for the checking and thorough inspection of PPE with regard to Work at Height activities.

Course Objective

To give the competent person the ability to thoroughly inspect PPE under current legislation and guidelines. To enable the person to make the decision as to the suitability of the equipment for use and if not suitable how to dispose of the equipment and update all records accordingly. To gain a full understanding of the potential hazards related to Work at Height equipment.

Course Content

To gain the practical and theoretical knowledge to inspect PPE for Work at Height.
Requirement for thorough inspection of PPE.
Certification of PPE.
Conformity markings.
Frequency of PPE inspections systems.
Requirements for a competent person.
Quarantine procedures.
Management recording systems.
Disposal of failed equipment.
Cleaning of equipment.

Skill Base

The ability to be able to determine the suitability of equipment for use while working at height.
Implementation of management recording systems.
Thorough cleaning of equipment.

Course Requirements

All candidates should have an understanding of pre use checks on Working at Height equipment and hold a background of use of such equipment.

Medical Requirements

A Reax statement of medical fitness to be signed prior to the commencement of the course. A reasonable level of fitness will be required to complete the practical element of this course.
