Confined Space High Risk Rescue Training 6150-05

The confined space high risk rescue training course is designed for participants that need to enter confined spaces where a specific risk cannot be controlled or eliminated. It will necessitate the need to use specialist breathing apparatus and operate as part of a rescue team in these conditions.

The City and Guilds accredited course is suited to rescue team operatives, as well as to managers and supervisors. Alternatively, you can offer this training to one or two members of a shift, so that you have safety cover if a person gets trapped or injured in a confined space like a tank, silo, or vessel.

The course offers both practical and theoretical training at the REAX dedicated simulation centre in Lancashire. All our trainers are qualified and accredited, with years of operational experience with emergency services so you can be assured that your employees are getting the best possible training. With the rescue training course, you can help protect all employees and even other parties. You can also ensure that you meet all elements of the Confined Space Regulations 1997 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, providing a safe working environment for your team.

What Will Participants Learn?

  • Identify and assess risks within confined spaces
  • Safe entry of high-risk areas
  • Use of gas monitoring equipment
  • Use of self-contained and air-line breathing apparatus
  • The use of rescue equipment
  • How to select, assemble, and use pulley systems
  • Use of tripods for entering, exiting and rescuing from spaces
  • Identification and implementation of emergency procedures
  • Planning and completing rescue from the confined space

The Confined Space High Risk Rescue Training course teaches all the skills required to assess risks, identify the best entry to a confined space, and how to enter and exit. It will also address how to rescue people that are confined or trapped in these conditions.

Planning and assessment are a critical component in any safe working plan or rescue operation. This rescue training course teaches participants the skills they need in order to be able to identify and assess risks. This will enable participants to reduce risks and improve safety. It will also allow them to determine any specialist equipment that might be needed, and the best way of utilising that equipment.

Every participant will, following training, be able to identify the best possible way to enter specific confined spaces. They will also be taught a variety of rescue systems to use in the space available.

Students will be taught to identify whether specialist breathing apparatus is required. This includes the use of self-contained breathing apparatus and air-line breathing apparatus. Once taught, every participant will understand the best way to enter a confined area and safely perform a rescue using this specialist equipment.
